Leveraging the powerful wireless management capabilities of CA’s Unicenter and ICL’s vast systems integration expertise, eBusiness customers will now be able to treat the Nokia 9200 Series Communicators and the Nokia WAP Server as full-fledged nodes on the enterprise network, confidently including them as easily-managed corporate assets and key business enablers. By delivering solutions for managing a wireless infrastructure, ICL and CA are enabling customers to improve service levels and accelerate their time-to-market.

The announcement marks the latest development in CA’s mobile eBusiness initiative, which enables rapid and secure deployment, management and integration of applications across wireless infrastructure including WAP gateways, laptops, PDAs and Internet-enabled phones.

Managing large numbers of mobile devices across multiple locations will become a complex challenge for organizations of all types, said Tom Roche, director of ICL’s alliance with CA. By leveraging our IT and eBusiness services expertise and geographic reach across Europe in conjunction with CA’s technology, ICL will effectively solve this management challenge.

Unicenter allows customers to instantly distribute new software and data to employees’ mobile devices, providing consistent, up-to-date information across the organization. ICL has been helping its extensive customer base lower IT ownership costs and improve the performance and reliability of mission-critical systems. Under the agreement ICL consultants will implement CA’s Unicenter at customer sites.

CA’s partnership with a large, experienced systems integrator like ICL will allow the largest customer base to get maximum value from their Nokia wireless implementations in the shortest amount of time, said Jeff Gartner, vice president, eBusiness solutions marketing, CA. Equipped with industry-leading technology from Nokia and CA, ICL’s consultants will be able to turn customers’ visions into competitively potent realities.
