Islandia, New York-based software Computer Associates International Inc has picked up two new products to add to its vast collection. One is Realizer is a graphical Basic environment for Windows, from Within Technologies Inc; the other is Working Set Inc’s Visual Report Writer. Realizer combines a structured superset of Basic extended to access Windows object resources, a visual forms designer and programmable application tools. It enables end-users to develop complete Windows applications without using the Microsoft Windows Software Development Kit. The package includes support for graphics and for Windows integration facilities, such as DDE and DLL, and co-operates with other desktop applications. Realizer 1.0 is available now. Visual Report Writer is a report generator technology for Windows, designed to access dBase, Clipper and CA-dBFast and SQL databases on any system. The user interface enables operators to write reports as they would on a word processor and embed information from the database as required. VRW 1.0 arrives this autumn.
