Shares in Computacenter Plc, the UKÆs largest supplier of desktop PC systems, rose 4.7% to 523.5 pence after the company exceeded expectations with results way ahead of market growth. Net profits for the year rose 39.2% to 43.2m on revenues 39.9% higher at 1,586m pounds.
The company’s new emphasis is on services which now account for 20% of revenues. It is expanding the range of services offered to customers and it says a significant percentage of new accounts include on-site support services.
In France, revenues climbed more than 70% to 165.8m pounds last year. In its first full year of operation, revenues of the German operation increased from 3.7m pounds to 37.1m pounds and Computacenter is on the lookout for acquisitions there to increase its presence.
