COMPUSERVER LICENSES STREAMWORKS FROM XING TECHNOLOGIES

CompuServe Inc has signed to license StreamWorks, the speech audio compression and decompression software from Arroyo Grande, California-based Xing Technologies Inc, planning to add real-time speech and music to the next release of WinCIM. StreamWorks is one of two competing software systems offering real-time audio on the Internet. The other, RealAudio from Progressive Networks Inc, was chosen by Netscape Communications Corp and Microsoft Corp for future Internet audio interfaces.
