Despite CompuServe Corp implementing a flat pricing plan, analysts have warned that the move may not lead to returning to profitability and chances of competing with America Online Inc seem remote. CompuServe has introduced a flat price option of $25 a month in the US and Canada which will be introduced in October. Analysts have agreed with CompuServe that the pricing changes mean it looks unlikely that the company will meet it goal of earnings breaking even by the second half of 1998.
