CompuServe Inc, Columbus, Ohio has slashed hourly connect rates to its on-line service by 40%: the new hourly rate at 9,600bps or 14.4Kbps is $9.60, down from $16; those with 1,200bps or 2,400bps modems pay $4.80, down from $8.00 previously.
