CompuDyne Corporation, an industry provider of sophisticated security products, integration and technology for the public security markets, has sealed a $1.5 million contract with city of Burbank, California.

CompuDyne – Public Safety & Justice, Inc will provide software and services for a new public safety system for the Burbank Police Department. CompuDyne is an industry provider of automated public safety and justice systems which meet the needs of law enforcement, fire and rescue, corrections and justice environments. This comprehensive system includes new Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management, and Field Reporting systems to support the police department serving the city’s 100,000 residents.

The Burbank Police Department upgraded its existing system to take advantage of new hardware technology and enhanced functionality.

The new Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system operates on fully distributed Microsoft Windows workstations with failsafe functioning built in.

Furthermore, a Records Management System offers the advantages of a streamlined and automated records and criminal investigations process. A mobile communications component that includes automated field report writing will be installed in 30 police vehicles, saving time on the current paper report writing process, and ensuring greater accuracy and consistency within data collection.
