Austin, Texas-based CompuAdd Corp has just completed a $21m contract to supply the US forces with personal computers for Operation Desert Shield: the order was placed by the US Central Command in Saudi Arabia and was filled over the past 24 days and the consignments included 80486-based desktop computers and 80386SX-based laptops, plus networks, laser printers and software – and the cash came from the Japanese government’s Gulf Peace Fund.
