Guntersville, Alabama-based contract manufacturer of printed circuit boards and other computer parts Comptronix Corp is in a desperate state and must restate its figures for four years; it is also in violation of some bank loans; the company says it has found improper accounting practices in its books and suspended its top three officers, William Hebding, chairman and chief executive, Allen Shifflett, president and chief operating officer, and Paul Medlin, controller from all decision-making. 1991, Comptronix’s reported sales were up 45% to $102.6m and earnings per share surged 67%; Comptronix said Hebding, Shifflett and Medlin reported information to the board on their own initiative and the investigation began as a result.
