Aimtech Corp, San Francisco has pulled the price of its Java authoring software, Jamba, down to $300 from $500 due to competition from other Web tools and to previous mistakes with Icon Author, its well-meaning but over-priced multimedia authoring system. Aimtech officials claim that Jamba is selling quite well but, with the recent rapid proliferation of Java tools, did not want to make the same mistake as the company did with Icon-Author, which hit out because it cost a lot.
