European Competition Commissioner Karel Van Miert declared at a conference in Brussels yesterday that he was happy with the state of the UK telecommunications market. He said that while British Telecommunications Plc still had a de facto dominant position in the UK market, they are not misusing their dominant position – competitors are given a chance in the British market.
