Compel Group Plc, the small but rapidly expanding UK-based systems integrator has had a profitable first half with revenues lifted by recent acquisitions. Net profits for the six months to December 31 were up 121% at 2.4m pounds on revenue that rose 119% to 86.6m pounds. Compel acquired PC rental outfit CMR Ltd in August and computer services company Abtex Systems Ltd in October, which explains most of the jump in revenue, but chief executive Neville Davis insisted that all parts of the group had experienced rapid organic growth. He also said the group’s second half had begun well. The interim dividend is up 17% to 2.1 pence and the shares edged up three pence to 401 pence.
