Comparex Information Systems, the joint BASF-Siemens IBMulator marketing company, is promising two new models in its 8/8X line, which covers the IBM 4381 and low-end 3090s. The existing uniprocessor 8/83 and 8/85 are rated respectively at 7 MIPS and 10 MIPS, and the promised models are a baby uniprocessor at 5 MIPS and a dual processor at 17 MIPS. The machines offer optional 6Mbyte-per-second channels to handle high-speed semiconductor store.
