Comparex Computer Systeme GmbH has now put dates on delivery of its implementation of IBM’s Extended Systems Architecture, and of logical partitioning. It says that 8/9X and 7/90 X models will get ESA from third quarter 1989, and the 8/8X models from the first quarter 1990. Multiple Logical Partitioning Feature, MLPF, will be out in second quarter 1989 for the 8/9X and 7/90 X, and third quarter for 8/8X. The facility gives up to 12 logical partitions on a multiprocessor, with channels individually allocated to each partition, and will be dynamically reconfigurable between partitions.
