Compaq Computer Corp has been voted supplier of the year by readers of PC User as well as coming first in five further categories: the SLT/286 was voted PC Product of the Year, Hardware Product of the Year, and Best Laptop (battery-powered), while the Compaq Portable III won Best Protable (mains-powered), and the Compaq Deskpro 386/25 was named as Best Desktop or Tower; the poll was conducted in January, and invited nominations across 20 different hardware, software, company, and specialist categories.
