COMPAQ UK TO SUPPLY THE POST OFFICE WITH 500 PCS

Compaq Computer UK Ltd is to supply the Post Office with 500 personal computers, bringing the total of Compaqs installed with the mailmen since April 1987 to 2,000: the contract is for a variety of Compaq Deskpro models, the majority of them original Deskpros, but the order also includes some of 80386-based Deskpro 386s; the systems will be used throughout the country for general spreadsheet, word processing, database and quality assurance analysis for letter delivery.
