The UK is now getting in on Compaq Computer Corp’s enthusiasm for direct marketing, even though the UK reseller channel model is stronger than in the US. The company has now introduced a home delivery personal computer for 900 pounds, including a Presario 2212, 180MHz processor, 16Mb RAM, 1.6Gb hard disk, pre-installed Microsoft Office 97, and delivery and installation by an authorized technician, aimed at the small office and home office market.
