In Compaq Computer Corp’s first real year of activity in Spain, the company turned over $14.6m with notable success in the Spanish market with portables and computers based on the Intel 80386 micro, which accounted for 50% of the company’s sales: last year also saw the consolidation of Compaq’s distribution network, recently numbered at 40 distributors and 60 points of sale; next year Compaq-Espana intends almost to double its staff as well as continuing to expand its other activities, and will be placing a special emphasis on training.
