Compaq Computer Corp says it has now shipped its two millionth server – more than its three nearest competitors combined it says. The shipments include seven years worth of ProLiant, ProSignia and SystemPro sales, but, whereas the first million took it over five years to ship, the second million were shipped in less than two. Compaq says its acquisition of Digital Equipment Corp will see it to its next million milestone in a fraction of the time.
