Yes indeed – after that was writt-en, news came through from Dow Jones that shares of Compaq Com-puter Corp are taking a heavy hit this morning as investors grapple with a number of concerns, includ-ing the company’s announcement late yesterday of third quarter operating results at the low end of Wall Street expectations and the company’s reported announce-ment at an analysts’ meeting last night that it’s experiencing prob-lems with the new Intel 80486; the last snapshot we had showed Compaq shares off a wince-making $9.375 at $99.25 when the Dow as a whole was down by 22 points.
