Compaq Computer Corp plans to open subsidiaries in Hungary and Poland before year-end, and says it reckons Eastern European market, which it has served via distributors since 1990, will be really, really big; in Hungary, Compaq said its revenue rose 120% during the first half of 1993 from the year-earlier period and the number of computers shipped in the period rose by 300%.
