Compaq Computer Corp yesterday blitzed the personal computer market with 36 new models in its ProLinea and Deskpro lines, including Pentium models, and 10 new models in the Presario home computer line: the 10 new models are ready-to-run out of the box and extend the Presario line to 13 models for all types of consumers; prices start at $1,350 for a ProLinea Net that comes with easy-to connect network interface boards, while Presario series prices start at $1,700; the company also reduced prices by 10% to 23% on some of its best-selling desktop models and by up to 35% on its 486/66 Compaq Portable model; the Deskpro XE line includes Pentium-based models at from $2,800 – but you have to pay a minumum of $3,200 if you want a disk inside.
