COMPAQ JOINS S&P 500

Compaq Computer Corp shares leaped $1.125 to $48.25 after the company was chosen to replace Sterling Drug (bought by Kodak) in the Standard & Poor’s index of 500 leading stocks. Some trusts are confined to S&P 500 shares, some funds match the index.
