Compaq Computer Corp is in talks with telecommunications companies, including regional Bell operating companies, about possible multimedia alliances, a company executive said: We’re currently in conversation and negotiation with a goodly number of telecommunications organisations, senior vice-president for North America Ross Cooley said in reply to an audience question after a speech at a Houston computer show – Compaq is a good distance from any such alliance, but it will likely involve various companies; he added that the discussions did not involve AT&T Corp.
