Compaq Computer Corp says it has developed a prototype handheld device that can download video images from the internet at the rate of 30 frames per second. The palmtop, codenamed Itsy, uses an Alpha processor and runs the Linux operating system, a change for Compaq which usually builds handhelds which run Windows CE.
