In another indication that all is far from well in the personal computer market, Compaq Computer Corp yesterday cut prices on its personal computers by between 8% and 34%, and on add-ons such as memory and modems by up to 64%. The company also raised the percentage discount that dealers get. As examples of the price reductions, the company said that the LTE 386s/20 Model 30 is cut 32% to $4,400, the 60 31% to $4,800.
