Compaq Computer Corp cut prices on several of its most popular notebook and desktop personal computers and server products by between 4% to 29%; it also cut prices on server-related hard drives by 18% and memory modules by as much as 34%: its Contura Aero subnotebook now starts at $1,000, multimedia Presario CDS models are now from $1,300 and Pentium-based ProSignia and ProLiant 1000 are off by up to 18%.
