Saying that supply has now caught up with demand, Compaq Computer has cut prices on the Deskpro 286 by 10%. The Model 1 falls to $2,700; the Model 20 to $3,600; the Model 40 to $4,500. The Houston firm says demand increased sharply when performance was hiked 50% in March, and that it now has increased manufacturing capacity substantially. The last cut was in September 1986.
