COMPAQ CLAIMS NEW SALES RECORD: ZERO TO $2 BILLION IN SIX YEARS

Compaq Computer Corp – the first company to go from zero to $111m in sales in its first year, is claiming yet another record for a start-up – zero to $2 billion in six years: the company saw net for 1988 rise 87% to $255m on turnover up 69% at $2,070m – and sales outside North America accounted for 39% of the total, all of which was good for $3.50 on the Compaq share price at $73.25; full figures in page 5.
