Compaq Computer Ltd has brought the dealer associate program pioneered by its Houston, Texas parent to the UK: under the scheme, vertical market resellers offering solutions not available from authorised dealers and adding significant value to Compaq range of MS-DOS micros can get special terms from authorised dealers; the dealers are expected to benefit from additional maintenance while the associates are able to sell Compaq hardware directly; the first UK associate is MUMPS house Astley Systems Ltd which has a series of 17-user programs running on a Deskpro 386.
