Compaq Computer Corp is terribly pleased with figures from Romtec Plc and Dataquest in Paris that suggest that it has now passed IBM Corp in terms of indirect sales of personal computers by both value and volume in the UK market; this is the first time Compaq has bested IBM in any market; the UK is the company’s biggest foreign market.
