COMPAQ ATTACKS LOW-END OF THE MARKET WITH NETELLIGENT

By CBR Staff Writer

Compaq Computer Corp has launched its 100Base-T stackable repeater, claiming it to be the lowest cost comparable product in the industry. Compaq claims that its latest Netelligent 2524 and 2624 Fast Ethernet 24-Port Repeaters are the first 100Mbps departmental hub to sell at under $100/port. This makes them between 20 to 50% less than similar products, says Compaq. The Netelligent 2524 Unmanaged Repeater and Netelligent 2624 Managed Repeater are available now at $2,400 and $4,500 respectively.
