Compaq Computer Corp, which now claims to be the world’s second largest multi-user storage vendor, has set up a storage management development agreement with Seagate Software Inc for Windows NT systems. And Compaq has also signed an agreement with Hewlett-Packard Co’s Components Group to collaborate on interoperability for Fiber Channel storage systems. Based on revenues, IBM Corp is still the leader in storage systems with a 15.7% share, according to IDC Corp figures. Compaq has a 11.7% share, up from 8.2% last year, but EMC Corp has slipped to number three with a 10.2% share.
