COMPAQ AND MICROSOFT ANNOUNCE SAP R3 BENCHMARK

Compaq Computer Corp and Microsoft Corp are claiming improved performance levels for SAP AG’s R3 on SQL and NT after benchmarking 1,011 SAP sales and distribution system users on a Compaq Proliant 7000 with four Pentium Pro 200MHz processors, 3Gb RAM and 172Gb disk space; 13 ProLiant 5000 application servers, each with four 200MHz Pentium Pro’s, 1Gb RAM running R/3Release 3.OF, SQL Server 6.5 and NT Server 4.0. Additionally, there were nine dialog servers, three update servers and one message and queueing server.
