Compaq Computer Corp and Cheyenne Software Inc, these days a division of Computer Associates International Inc, have signed a marketing and support pact that is supposed to take their relationship to levels beyond the OEM deal Compaq’s had with Cheyenne for years. Compaq will become a key development system at Cheyenne while Cheyenne cements its hold on Compaq as a reseller. The deal, which even has a name of its own – the Enterprise Storage Management Alliance – covers market research, strategic planning, product and market development, service and support.
