BellSouth Corp has reported fourth quarter net profits of $633m against losses last time of $161m including charges for workforce reductions of $725m on turnover up 6.0% at $5,050.0m; net profits for the year to December 31 were up 138% at $2,860.0m including a gain of $344m on sale of paging business, on turnover that rose 6.5% to $19,040m. Net earnings per share rose 12.3% to $0.64 in the quarter, and were up 12.9% to $2.53 in the year.
