Andrew Corp has reported fourth quarter net profits up 34.9% at $24.0m on turnover up 4.8% at $166.2m; net profits for the year to September 30, were up 52.7% at $67.8m, on turnover that rose 12.2% to $626.5m. Net earnings per share rose 35.6% to $0.61 in the quarter, 53.1% to $1.73 in the year.

BMC Industries Inc saw third quarter net up 99% at $4.5m on turnover up 9.7% at $59.2m; nine-month net rose 89.4% to $16.7m on turnover up 16.2% at $190.2m. Net per share rose 100% to $0.32 in the quarter, 83.1% to $1.19 in the nine months.

Cascade Communications Corp saw third quarter net up 135.7% at $6.9m on turnover up 139.7% at $36.0m; nine-month net rose 226.0% to $16.3m on turnover up 197.2% at $88.6m. Net per share rose 120% to $0.22 in the quarter, 184.2% to $0.54 in the nine months.

Computer Products Inc saw third quarter net up 198.9% at $4.4m on turnover up 27.0% at $46.9m; nine-month net rose 111.3% to $8.8m on turnover up 22.6% at $138.5m. Net per share rose 157.1% to $0.18 in the quarter, 90% to $0.38 in the nine months.

Compuware Corp has reported second quarter net profits down 20.8% at $13.8m on turnover up 12.8% at $140.0m; mid-term net profits rose 69.15% to $21.6m on turnover up 13.9% at $266.1m. Net earnings per share were down 16.2% to $0.31 in the quarter, but were up 74.1% to $0.27 in the half.

Concentra Corp saw second quarter net profits down 77.4% at $90,000 on sales up 15.5% at $5.2m; mid-term net fell 45.7% to $399,000 on sales up 44.5% at $9.6m. Net per share fell 80.0% to $0.02 in the quarter, and fell 63.2% to $0.07 in the half.

Data I/O Corp reported third quarter net profits down 69.4% at $244,000 on turnover up only marginally at $15.6m; nine month net profits rose 117.2% to $2.6m on turnover up 4.0% at $48.0m. Net earnings per share fell 72.7% to $0.03 in the quarter, but rose 100% to $0.32 in the three quarters.

Emulex Corp has turned in a first quarter net losses of $3.5m against a profit last time of $669,000 on turnover down 43.6% to $10.4m.

Hutchinson Technology Inc has reported fourth quarter net profits up 110.8% at $8.7m, on turnover up 23.2% at $86.7m; net profits for the year to September 24 were up to $21.1m, from $5.9m profits last time, on turnover up 25.6% to $300.0m. Net per share rose 103.9% to $1.55 in the quarter, and was up to $3.84 in the year, from $1.08 last time.

InterTan Inc has turned in first quarter net losses of $2.2m, up from a loss the same period last year of $1.8m, on turnover that was up 1.7% to $113.7m.

Networth Inc has reported first quarter net profit up 46.0% at $1.0m on turnover up 12.7% to $17.7m. Net earnings per share fell 27.8% to $0.13.

Oak Industries Inc has reported third quarter net losses of $77.8m against a profit last time of $7.4m on turnover up 11.4% at $65.0m; nine-month net losses were $56.3m against a profit last time of $25.0m on turnover up 137.1% at $203.6m.

Qlogic Corp saw second quarter net profits down 67.1% at $214,000 on sales down 14.6% at $13.1m; mid-term net losses of $510,000 against profits of $1.2m last time on sales down 23.4% at $22.7m.

Rational Software Corp saw second quarter net profits up % at $m on turnover up 22.1% at $21.6m; mid-term net rose 71.5% to $3.4m on turnover that was up 19.3% at $41.4m. Net per share rose 30% to $0.13 in the quarter, 69.2% to $0.22 in the half.

Read-Rite Corp saw fourth quarter net up 203.3% at $46.7m on turnover up 46.5% at $288.7m; net profit for the year to September 30 was up 527.4% at $123.6m on turnover that rose 45.7% to $1003.0m. Net earnings per share were up 187.9% to $0.95 in the quarter, and 504.7% to $2.60 in the year.

Retix Inc has reported third quarter net losses of $5.8m, up from $2.5m losses last time, on turnover down 38.5% at $7.5m; nine month net losses were $10.8m, up from $6.6m losses the same period last year, which were after a $1.7m restructuring charge, on turnover that was down 29.5% at $31.2m.

Seeq Technology Inc has reported fourth quarter net profits down 90.2% at $45,000, on turnover that was down 11.6% at $4.8m; net profits for the year to September 30 were $1.3m, against $7.9m losses the previous year, which included a $4.9m restructuring charge, on turnover that was up 4.8% to $22.5m. Net earnings per share were $0.04 in the year.

Software Publishing Corp has reported third quarter net losses of $11.6m against a profit last time of 4.0m on turnover down 61.6% at $5.6m; nine-month net losses were $16.5m up from a loss last time of $4.9m on turnover that was down 49.0% at $31.4m.

Tangran Enterprise Solutions Inc has reported third quarter net profits of $22,900 against a loss last time of $1.2m on turnover up 2.2% at $3.5m; nine-month net was $109,800 against a loss last time of $827,000 on turnover up 3.0% at $9.9m.

Compania de Telecommunicaciones de Chile SA has reported third quarter net profits down 5.8% to the equivalent of $72.8m, on turnover down 5.7% at $279.0m. Net earnings per American Depositary share fell 5.9% to $1.44 in the quarter. No figures for the nine months were available. Figures were converted at $0.0025 to the Chilean peso.

Grupo Iusacell SA de CV saw net losses for the year to September 30 the equivalent of $40.0m, up from $23.6m losses a year ago, on turnover that fell 12.2% to $147.1m. Figures converted at $0.1475 to the value of the Mexican new peso on September 30.

Lannet Data Communications Ltd has reported third quarter net profits up 69.7% at $3.3m, on turnover up 52.8% at $27.5m; nine month net profits rose 99.8% to $8.6m, on turnover up 49.0% at $74.1m. Net earnings per share rose 55.5% to $0.28 in the quarter, 90% to $0.76 in the three quarters. The Israeli company reports its figures in US dollars.
