Advanced Micro Devices Inc has reported third quarter net profits down 35.2% at $56.2m, on turnover up 8.7% at $590.4m; nine month net profits fell 7.4% to $244.9m, on turnover up 15.6% at $1,836.7m. Net earnings per share fell 37.3% to $0.52 in the quarter, and 9.8% to $2.29 in the three quarters.
Geoworks Inc has reported second quarter net losses of $2.4m, down from $2.5m losses last time, on turnover that fell 16.1% at $950,000; mid-term net losses were $5.2m, down from $5.4m losses last time, on turnover that was down 29.3% at $1.3m.
Molex Inc has reported first quarter net profits up 17.5% at $32.2m on turnover that rose 25.8% to $338.2m. Net earnings per share rose 25% to $0.35.
Seagate Technology Inc reported first quarter net profits up to $108.0m, from $22.5m last time, on turnover that rose 55.8% to $1,453.6m. Net earnings per share rose from $0.30 to $1.23 this time.
TIE/Communications Inc has reported third quarter net profits up 60.8% at $238,000, on turnover down 4.7% at $30.3m; nine month net losses were $292,000, against profits of $432,000 last time, on turnover that fell 0.8% at $92.5m. Net earnings per share were up 50% to $0.06 in the quarter.
SGS-Thomson Microelectronics NV saw third quarter net profits up 44.8% at $129.0m, on turnover up 40.4% at $922.6m; nine month net profits rose 41.5% to $358.5m, on turnover up 33.7% at $2,579.7m. Net earnings per share were up 37.0% to $1.00 in the quarter, and 30.5% to $2.78 in the three quarters. The Italo-French company reports in US dollars.
