COMPANY RESULTS

Tandy Corp has reported that first quarter net profits rose 18.9% at $41.8m against a period on that included a charge of $18.5m from discontinued operations, and gain of $13m from an accounting change, on turnover that rose 14.7% at $992.1m. Net earnings per share rose 19% to $0.51 in the quarter.
