Continental Circuits Corp saw first quarter net profits up 50.4% at $2.2m, on turnover that rose 24.0% to $28.5m. Net per share rose 25% to $0.30.

Identix Inc has turned in a first quarter net profit of $124,000 against a loss last time of $390,000 on turnover that rose 28.1% to $7.5m.

Illinois Superconductor Corp has reported third quarter net losses of $1.9m, up from $980,589 losses last time, on turnover down to $4,665, from $61,892 last time; nine month net losses were $5.5m, up from $2.7m losses last time, on turnover down to $5,648, from $155,422 turnover last time.

MacNeal-Schwendler Corp has reported third quarter net profits up 27.3% at $3.5m, on turnover up 4.7% at $17.6m; nine month net profits rose 20.4% to $10.1m, on turnover that was up 7.8% at $54.4m. Net earnings per share rose 23.8% to $0.26 in the quarter, 19.0% to $0.75 in the three quarters.

MilTope Group Inc has reported third quarter net profits down 35.6% at $618,000, on turnover that was down 13.6% at $18.2m; nine month net losses were $521,000, down from $3.4m losses last time, which were after a $8.3m relocation charge, on turnover down 7.5% at $55.5m. Net earnings per share were down 31.3% to $0.11 in the quarter.

Nextel Communications Inc has reported third quarter net losses of $102.1m, after a $17.4m charge related to reorganisation, consolidation and relocation, up from $41.2m losses last time, on turnover that rose 120.6% at $65.3m; nine month net losses were $212.3m, up from $98.6m losses last time, on turnover that was up 107.3% at $145.3m.

Paging Network Inc has reported third quarter net losses of $10.0m, up from $3.2m losses last time, on turnover up 34.7% at $145.5m; nine month net losses were $33.0m, up from $16.4m losses last time, on turnover that was up 33.0% at $396.2m.

Phoenix Network Inc has reported third quarter net profits up to $244,548, from $59,577 profits last time, on turnover that was up 2.5% at $15.0m; nine month net profits were $519,255, against losses of $917,680 last time, on turnover that was down 2.4% at $42.7m. Net earnings per share were $0.01 in the quarter, and $0.02 in the three quarters.

Zycom Corp saw third quarter net losses of $626,000 against a profit last time of $2.6m on turnover up 20.7% at $46.8m; net profit for the year so far was down 20.4% at $3.2m on turnover that rose 15.2% to $127.5m. Net earnings per share rose 50% to $0.27 in the quarter, 92.9% to $0.54 in the nine months.

Memorex Telex NV has reported second quarter net losses of $31.5m, up from $31.3m losses the same period last year, on turnover that fell 6.8% at $207.9m; mid-term net losses were $59.3m, down from $62.3m losses the same period last year, on turnover down 6.0% at $428.4m. The Netherlands-registered company reports its figures in US dollars.

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co Ltd saw net losses for the six months to September 30 of the equivalent of $1,318.5m, against $236.1m profits last time, on turnover down 4.5% to $31,944.4m. Figures converted at $0.0099 to the Japanese yen.

Legend Holdings Ltd reported net profits for the six months to September up 20.8% to the equivalent of $4.8m, on turnover that rose 21.7% to $254.9m. Net earnings per share rose 17.8% to $0.01. Figures converted at $0.1293 to the Hong Kong dollar.

Oxford Instruments Plc has reported net profits for the six months to October 1 up 15.5% at ú5.9m, on turnover that was up 18.8% to ú65.5m. At the pre-tax level, profits were up 15.6% at ú9.0m. Earnings per share were up 14.4% to 11.9 pence.
