Philips Electronics NV has reported third quarter net profits up 18.5% to the equivalent of $346.8m, against a period including a $48.3m extraordinary gain, on turnover up 8.0% at $9,858.4m; nine month net profits rose 49.1% to $1,074.6m, after a $128.7m extraordinary gain against a $48.3m gain last time, on turnover that was up 5.8% at $28,693.7m. Net earnings per share rose 52.8% to $3.54 in the three quarters. No earnings per share figure was available for the quarter. The figures were converted at $0.6435 top the Dutch guilder.
