Applied Materials Inc has reported fourth quarter net profits up 146.3% at $155.4m, on turnover up 110.1% at $982.7m; net profits for the year to were up 105.7% at $454.1m, on turnover that rose 84.5% to $3,061.9m. Net per share rose 127.0% to $0.84 in the quarter, and 96.9% to $2.56 in the year.
DSP Technology Inc has reported third quarter net profits up 29.3% at $375,000, on turnover that rose 18.9% at $4.2m; nine month net profits rose 52.0% to $827,000, on turnover that was up 20.3% at $11.0m. Net earnings per share rose 23.1% to $0.16 in the quarter, 44% to $0.36 in the three quarters.
H&R Block Inc has reported second quarter net losses of $8.3m, up from $1.3m losses last time, on turnover that rose 29.5% to $223.9m; mid-term net losses were $1.9m, after a $16.1m gain from an accounting change and a $12.4m pre-tax gain on the sale of Meca Software Inc, which was offset by an $8.4m write-off of goodwill associated with personal tax software, down from $4.2m losses last time, on turnover that was up 38.9% at $442.0m.
Inference Corp has reported third quarter net profits up to $1.1m, from $430,000 last time, after a $325,000 gain from discontinued operations, on turnover up 47.1% at $7.7m; nine month net profits rose to $1.9m, from $381,000 last time, after a $973,000 gain from discontiued operations, on turnover up 43.4% at $19.8m. Net per share rose 62.5% to $0.13 in the quarter, and were up to $0.27 in the three quarters, up from $0.07 last time.
SystemSoft Corp has reported third quarter net profits up 83.1% at $826,000, on turnover that was up 54.0% at $6.2m; nine month net profits rose 111.6% to $2.3m, on turnover that was up 54.3% at $17.3m. Pro-forma net earnings per share, adjusted to include the results of Ventura Micro Inc, which was acquired in June 1995, rose 75% to $0.07 in the quarter, and 75% to $0.21 in the three quarters.
System Software Associates Inc has reported fourth quarter net profits up 172.6% at $16.9m, on turnover that was up 16.3% at $127.7m; net profits for the year to October 31 were up 121.4% at $34.1m, on turnover that rose 17.9% to $34.1m. Net earnings per share rose 160% to $0.39 in the quarter, and 113.2% to $0.81 in the year, and reflect a three-for-two stock split effective December 27 1995.
Bezeq Israel Telecommunications Corp Ltd has reported third quarter net profits up 19.1% to the equivalent of $48.7m, on turnover up 28.6% to $596.0m; nine month net profits rose 110.6% to $130.9m on turnover that rose 19.1% at $1,711.9m. No earnings per share figures were made available. The figures converted at $0.3311 to the Israeli sheckel.
