3Com Corp has reported second quarter net profits up 545.9% at $105.6m including a charge of approximately $6.6m for merger costs associated with the acquisition of OnStream Networks Inc. The 1995 figure included a charge of $69m for merger costs associated with the acquisition of Chipcom Corp; on revenue up 45.6% at $820.3m; mid-term net profits rose 167.3% to $197.1m on revenue up 44.3% at $1,530.4m. Net earnings per share rose 522.2% to $0.56 in the quarter, 152.4% to $1.06 in the half.
