Catalyst Semiconductor Inc saw second quarter net profits up 65.9% at $813,000 on sales up 21.1% at $14.7m; mid-term net rose 94.5% to $1.5m on sales up 21.8% at $28.6m. Net per share rose 42.9% to $0.10 in the quarter, 66.7% to $0.20 in the half.
Comdisco Inc has reported fourth quarter net profits of $25m, against $21m losses last time, which were after a $70m from a litigation settlement with IBM Corp, on turnover up 12.5% at $584m; net profits for the year to September 30 were up 118% at $96m, against a period including the same litigation settlement charge and a separate $10m litigation charge, on turnover that was up 6.8% to $2,240m. Net earnings per share were $0.68 in the quarter, and were up 131% to $2.60 in the year.
Comverse Technology Inc has reported third quarter net profits up 42.0% at $11.9m, on turnover up 27.7% at $105.7m; nine month net profits rose 35.6% to $4.7m, on turnover up 26.3% at $38.3m. Net earnings per share rose 39.5% to $0.53 in the quarter, 31.3% to $0.21 in the three quarters.
General Magic Inc has reported third quarter net losses of $5.1m, up from $4.0m losses last time, on turnover up 29.1% at $3.2m; nine month net losses were $15.2m, up from $14.3m losses last time, on turnover that rose to $9.3m, from $2.5m last time.

ECI Telecom Ltd has reported third quarter net profits up 14.6% at $64.6m, on turnover up 18.4% at $328.9m; nine month net profits rose 15.0% to $22.5m, on turnover that was up 12.3% at $111.4m. Net earnings per share rose 14.9% to $0.85 in the quarter, 15.4% to $0.30 in the three quarters. The Israeli company reports its figures in US dollars.
Siemens AG has reported net profits for the year to September 30 26.1% ahead at $1,471m on turnover up 5.0% to $62,823m. No per share figures given. Conversion is at $0.7074 to the German mark.
Electrocomponents Plc has reported net profits for the six months to September 30 that were up 18% at ú40.4m on turnover that rose 19% to ú257.3m. At the pre-tax level, profits were up 18% at ú41.9m. Earnings per share were up 18% to 2.0 pence.
