Active Voice Corp saw second quarter net up 26.9% at $1.5m on turnover up 29.3% at $11.3m; mid-term net profits rose 26.0% to $3.0m on turnover up 27.6% at $21.7m. Net per share rose 26.9% to $0.33 in the quarter, 25.5% to $0.64 in the half.

AmeriData Technologies Inc saw third quarter net up 67.4% at $7.3m on sales up 41.4% at $426.3m; nine month net rose 20.4% to $12.2m on sales up 51.0% at $1.0m. Net per share rose 33.3% to $0.32 in the quarter, and fell 34.5% to $0.56 in the nine months.

Boole & Babbage Inc has reported fourth quarter net profits up 47.1% at $3.9m, on turnover up 15.6% at $41.2m; net profits for the year to September 30 were up 75.5% at $13.9m, on turnover that rose 17.1% to $154.4m. Net per share rose 38.9% to $0.50 in the quarter, 64.5% to $1.81 in the year.

Cisco Systems Inc has reported first quarter net profits up 70.8% at $168.7m, on turnover up 80.7% to $710.2m. Net per share rose 59.5% to $0.59.

Dataram Corp has reported second quarter net profits that were up 34.6% at $708,000, on turnover that rose 18.2% at $32.3m; mid-term net profits were up 56.8% to $1.2m, on turnover that rose 15.5% at $57.2m. Net earnings per share rose 28.6% to $0.18 in the quarter, 52.3% to $0.32 in the half.

Data Transmission Network Corp saw third quarter net of $96,6000 against a loss last time of $842,700 on turnover up 38.4% at $16.2m; net losses for the year so far were $143,000 down from a loss last time of $1.1m on turnover up 32.4% to $44.5m.

Digital Link Corp has reported fourth quarter net profits up 31% at $1.7m on turnover up 32.6% at $12.5m; net profits for the year to September 30 were up 58.8% at $4.3m on turnover up 40.1% to $34.3m. Net earnings per share rose 28.6% to $0.18 in the quarter, 50% to $0.45 in the year.

Ducommun Inc saw third quarter net up 260.9% at $1.7m on turnover up 55.8% at $24.1m; nine month net profits rose 92.1% to $3.2m on turnover up 49.2% at $67.9m. Net per share rose 170% to $0.27 in the quarter, 54% to $0.57 in the three quarters.

HNC Software Inc saw third quarter net of $6.9m against $377,000 last time on turnover up 53.2% at $6.9m; nine month net profits were $3.6m against $854,000 last time on turnover up 51.4% at $17.9m. Net earnings per share rose 500% to $0.36 in the quarter, 278.6% to $0.53 in the three quarters.

MapInfo Corp reported fourth quarter net profits down 18.3% at $972,000 on turnover up 22.0% at $11.3m; net profits for the year to September 30 were up 18.7% at $3.8m on turnover that rose 34.8% to $40.0m. Net per share was down 19.0% to $0.17 in the quarter, and up 6.55% to $0.65 in the year.

NetFrame Systems Inc has reported third quarter net losses of $1.9m, against $2.6m profits last time, on turnover up 10.5% at $22.0m; nine month net losses were $8.2m, against $6.8m profits last time, on turnover down 20.3% at $55.0m. Figures have been restated to reflect a $2.2m charge for the tentative settlement of a class action lawsuit.

NetManage Inc saw third quarter net profits up 94.9% at $7.4m on turnover up 96.6% at $32.7m; nine-month net rose 97.7% to $19.9m on turnover up 134.6% at $88.7m. Net per share rose 100% to $0.18 in the quarter, 88% to $0.47 in the nine months.

QMS Inc has reported fourth quarter net losses of $20.4m against a profit last time of $1.6m on turnover down 22.5% at $59.9m after special charges and restructuring charges totaling $17.0m in the quarter; net losses for the year to September 30 were $44.3m on turnover that fell 11.3% to $259.7m.

Silicon Valley Group Inc has reported fourth quarter net up 183.6% at $14.1m on turnover up 69.5% at $139.0m; net profits for the year to September 30 rose 132.6% at $39.0m on turnover that rose 44.4% to $462.0m. Net earnings per share rose 116.7% to $0.52 in the quarter, 86.9% to $1.57 in the year.

US Robotics Inc saw fourth quarter net profits up to $34.2m, up from $5.4m profits last time, on turnover up 122.5% at $293.4m; net profits for the year to October 1 were up 82.6% at $66.9m, after merger-related costs of $23.2m, on turnover up 78.2% to $889.3m. Net per share rose to $0.75 in the quarter, from $0.14 last time, and rose 63.2% to $1.55 in the year. Figures have been restated to include the accounts of Megahertz Holding Corp.

BCE Mobile Communications Inc saw second quarter net up 28.9% at $11.6m on turnover up 27.2% at $160.9m; mid-term net rose 38.4% to $28.5m on turnover up 24.6% at $431.1m. Net per share rose 22.2% to $0.22 in the quarter, 37.5% to $0.55 in the half. Conversion at 0.7457 to the Canadian dollar.

Gandalf Technologies Inc has reported second quarter net profits down 94.2% at $35,000, on turnover that was down 10.8% at $27.4m; mid-term net profits were $101,000, against $957,000 losses the previous time, on turnover that was down 7.2% at $56.0m. The Canadian company reports figures in US dollars.

Sega Enterprises Ltd has reported unconsolidated net profits for the six months to September 30 down 34.3% at the equivalent of $53.6m, on turnover up 3.5% to $1,515.8m; net per share fell 34% to $0.53. Figures converted at $0.0097 to the Japanese yen.

Scitex Corp Ltd has reported third quarter net losses of $36.4m against a profit of $12.2m last time on turnover up 4.8% at $184.2m including charges of $38m related to redundancy payments and related cost cutting; nine month net losses were $18.6m against a profit for the same time last year of $43.7m on turnover up 5.33% at $537.1m. The Israeli company reports its figures in US dollars.
