Pacific Telecom Inc has reported fourth quarter net profits of $16.8m against losses of $19.6m last time, including a loss from discontinued operations of $39.2m, and an exceptional gain of $5.5m, on turnover down 4.0% at $178.8m; net profit for the year to December 31 was up 455.6% at $119.5m, including a gain of $1.3m from the sale of subsidiaries, and profit from discontinued operations of $60.4m this time, and including a gain of $26.6m last time and a loss of $45.7m from discontinued operations last time, on turnover that rose 0.6% to $709.1m. Net earnings per share were $0.43 in the quarter, rising 459.3% to $3.02 in the year.
