Ameritech Corp has reported first quarter net profits down 85.4% at $43.8m after a net restructuring charge of $332.8m this time and a $37.3m charge for restructuring at Telecom Corp of New Zealand Ltd last, on turnover that climbed 6.9% at
2,990.4m. Net earnings per share, adjusted for a two-for-one split last December, slumped by 73% to $0.08.
