By CBR Staff Writer

Polish software company Prokom Software SA has reported net profits for the six months to June 30 1998 up 111% at the equivalent of $7.66m on revenues that rose 5.9% to $30.2m. At the pre-tax level, profits were up 61% at $12.1m. Earnings per share rose 65% to 60 cents. The reason for the dramatic increase in the company’s net profit was not operational, Prokom’s $4.8m operating profit for the period having represented an increase of only 2.4% compared to the first six months of 1997. Rather it was a healthy financial income of $7.39m that bolstered the net profit figure.
