COMPANY RESULT: PLATINUM TECHNOLOGY INC

Platinum Technology Inc reported fourth quarter net income of $32.7m after charges of $5.4m up from a loss of $20.3m last time which included charges of $55.7m. Revenue was up 30% at $314.7m over $242.7m last time. Earnings per share were $0.34. For the year Platinum recorded a net loss of $2.5m after $78m charges compared to a net loss of $106.1m last time which includes $151.2m charges. Revenue increased 31% to $968.2m from $738.9m.
