Motorola Inc has reported fourth quarter net profits down 44.9% at $238.0m, including tens of millions of dollars of restructuring costs and unusual charges for the period, resulting in a combined negative impact to pre-tax earnings of more than $150m, on revenue up 5.3% at $7.685bn; net profits for the year to December 31 1996 fell 35% to $1.154bn on revenue that rose 3.5% to $27.973bn. Net earnings per share fell 45% to $0.39 in the quarter, 35.0% to $1.90 in the year.
